It is starting to smell like Spring Cleaning!!

Today was a beautiful day here on PEI, it was +2 sunny and nice. More snow is melting and
more ground is being uncovered.

This is a picture of downtown Charlottetown taken this morning
from a live cam.

After getting Raven off to school this morning I packed the other two girls up and we headed to Charlottetown for the day. We went to Walmart! ( One of my favorite stores) It is spring cleaning time and I wanted to get a bunch of new cleaning supplies ( I was very excited...Ha! I know I am little crazy) I am a die hard Pinesol fan, I love the smell, I love the cleaning power and ya, again I will say it, I LOVE the smell. But, since we have moved here I find it doesn't have the same smelling affect as it did in our old house. I think it is because I had all hardwood in our old house and in this one I have carpet ( yuck! I hate carpet), and I would use pinesol to mop all the floors so it would put more of the smell in the house. But with having carpet everywhere except for the kitchen and bathroom the smell isn't as lingering. So for now I have put away my pinesol...but only for now, when we finish renovations on the entire house I will have NO CARPET! and I will go back to using my beloved Pinesol.Ha!

One of the blogs that I read daily, Kelly had written about Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner and how she loved it. So I took her advice and went and bought some. I really like it! I was skeptical at first on how well it would clean glass, but it works just as well as Windex! I used it on my bathroom sink and counter top and it was great! I bought the lavender scented kind ( because I am all about things smelling pretty). It is great to be able to dust, clean mirrors, counter tops etc with just one cleaning product, no more carrying multiple bottles around room to room.

I also changed my mop and bucket to a swiffer wet jet Well, I will still use the mop and bucket for weekly cleaning, but in between its easier to use the Swiffer. Again in our old house it was too expensive to use the swiffer, I would go through a bottle of solution everyday...but now with just the kitchen and bathroom a bottle of cleaner should last a week.

I Love cleaning, and more so I love when my house is clean! It gives me such a good feeling.I am a Domestic Engineer hear me roar! Ha!What are your favourite cleaning products? Do you have any tricks or tips on cleaning?

It's Tuesday again?

I didn't realize its been a few days since my last post...oops. Here is what we have been up to.

Friday - I can't even remember what we did Friday Ha! so I guess it wasn't anything too interesting.

Saturday- I spent the entire day (7am - 4pm) in Charlottetown shopping with my mom and my aunt Boo. We hit up Sears Super Saturday ( nothing that super about it) I got a cute sweater vest, a bra ( they were on sale 40% off) and a new bottle of "Truth" by Calvin Klein. We then hit up a few of the 2nd hand stores where I got some great outfits for the girls for the summer. Then we headed over to Home Depot, I took a couple pictures of 2 of the bathroom displays.

I LOVE this one!! In fact this is what I have in mind for our master bath. Everything from the floor to the tub and the tile and even the wall color!! I Love it all!!

My Mom was more of a fan of this display bathroom. Me, not so much. My Mom and I both love decorating and I appreciate her taste in things but I have a very different taste. Don't get me wrong she has great taste and her homes are always beautiful, I just have a different style.

Then Saturday night was AARON PRITCHETT in CONCERT!!!! He was amazing!!! It was a great show, he is such a performer, and he is gorgeous! Ha! I love so many of his songs, and it was awesome to see him preform them! After the 2 hour concert he came out to greet his fans, sign autographs and for pictures. I got his autograph on his Album Big Wheel, and I got my picture taken with him! Unfortunately, my camera died right before the photo so I had to get someone else to take a picture with her camera and I am still patiently waiting for her to email it to me. But what a guy! I will go see him any and every time he comes back to either Georgetown or anywhere here on PEI. AND on his official website he has a blog and in today's entry he even mentioned Georgetown!! Ha! You can read it here.

Here are a few of the pictures I got of the concert. I will add more to a later post when I get the one of me & him. Hehe!

Sunday - In the afternoon we went for a family drive to Charlottetown and went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Blaine had a Banana Split, the girls each had a Carmel Sunday and I had a strawberry Sunday. YUM! Mom invited us over for supper, and it was good! Roast and stuffed chicken breast and veggies. My mom is a great cook! and that women can bake too! I hope someday that I am able to cook and bake as good as her. Even half as good I would be fine with.

Monday- Back to school for Raven after her week long March Break. Back to normal daily routine for the rest of us. I started my spring cleaning and got the girls closet and all their dressers cleaned out. I took 5 big garbage bags out to the trash. Their room looks so much better with out the clutter. Monday Night I had turbo Jam class and then One Tree Hill was on at 10pm.

Tuesday(today)- Snow day for Raven, lazy morning for the rest of us. Just when I thought Spring was here, we get hit with yet another snow storm. Yuck! Hopefully, that will be it for this year. Fingers crossed! Tonight is a new episode of NCIS and 90210. Can't wait!

Thursday Popcorn & Movies

This week is March Break for all the kids, and the Kings Playhouse here in town is playing afternoon matinees all week. A different movie everyday. Yesterday Morning the local playgroup for kids had a morning movie playing with free munchies for the kids. My friend Jodi invited me to take my girls. Jodi took her little guy JD and another friend of ours little guy Cameron. The movie was Horton Hears a Who. It was my first time seeing it and it was cute.
The girls liked it. After the movie Jodi and I took all the kids to Wendy's in Montague for lunch.

Then the afternoon Matinee was Marley & Me so I decided to take just Raven for some Mommy/Daughter time. We got popcorn and a drink each and Raven got skittles and settled in for the movie. It was a good story, a tear jerk er ending but great movie.

Its great that such a small town has a theatre. They have movies playing every Friday & Saturday Night and a Matinee Saturday afternoon. The movies they play are all new releases. So its movies that you can just go an rent at the store but why rent it at home when you can go sit in a theatre and have popcorn and watch it on a big big screen? I love it! It is the perfect date night for Blaine and I.

Lazy Day! Happy St. Patty`s Day!

Today was a very lazy day in the Scanlon House. We all slept in, which rarely happens, and then we just kind of relaxed and watched TV all day. It was really nice to have a lazy day on a Tuesday Ha! I didn't even have to cook supper we ordered Greco Pizza. I love their Pizza and garlic fingers...Yummy!

One Tree Hill last night was not the greatest episode. I thought because it had been reruns for so long it would have been really good but not so much. I also did not like where they are going with the whole Peyton being pregnant and the baby could kill her if she does not terminate the pregnancy thing. I really hope this is not the beginning of killing off Peyton. Anyway the trailer for next weeks episode looks good, so I am looking forward to that.

Aaron Prichett is coming to Georgetown!!! I am so excited! I booked our tickets last night. He is doing one show and it is Saturday night here in town at the Kings Playhouse . I like alot of his songs. This is my first country music concert. I have been to other concerts, just no country ones. And seeing as country is my favorite kind of music I am super thrilled! It will also be a great date night for me and Blaine.

Hubba hubba!!!....HA!

Great Weekend!

On Saturday Blaine, River, Keilee and me ( Raven had a sleep over at her friend and cousin`s Rebecca's house) went to Oromocto New Brunswick. We had gotten Blaine's dad a snow blower for Christmas but had no way of getting it over to Newfoundland, so Blaine's Aunt & Uncle were in Oromocto visiting their daughter, son in law and granddaughter so we took the snow blower over for them to take back to Newfoundland for us. We stayed the night at Blaine's other cousin Danielle and her husband Dion's house. It was a really fun weekend! Dion cooked supper for us and another couple that they are friends with. He made Moose meat meat balls with a really yummy sauce and rice. It was really good. The other couple that was there for supper ( I feel bad, I forget their names) brought a really yummy cake for desert. After supper was finished and cleaned up we went over to Tinika & Mike`s ( Blaine`s other cousin`s house ) to drop off the snowblower and to visit. After spending a hour visiting we went back to Danielle & Dion`s and played Wii for the rest of the evening. It was my first times playing Wii and it was SO FUN! We played bowling and then golf. I love it and I think we will be getting a Wii very soon!!!! On Sunday we packed up around 1pm and headed home.

This week is March Break for Raven so she is home the whole week. She is not home tonight because she is gone for a sleepover at my aunt Brenda`s house. Brenda is having a sleepover for a few of our little cousins and Raven and my sister Chandler went to join in on the fun.

One Tree Hill is finally a new episode tonight!!!!! Its been re-runs for almost 2 months. YAY!!

Friday the 13th.......You never know who is gonna knock on your door!

Today my friend Jodi and her little guy JD ( John David) came over for a visit. He is such a cutie! He is a few months younger than Keilee, he will be 3 in April (I believe). He played really well with my girls. While I was visiting with Jodi, there was a knock on the door. It was Accident Insurance Sales People. Blaine invited them in to do their spiel, and when I went to greet them, it was a guy that I grew up with! In fact his mom was my babysitter when I was like 8...Ha! So I got caught up on him and his mom and brothers and sister, and he got caught up on my sisters and my parents and me. It was a very nice to see him.

I did not take any pictures today, I should have, but I didn't. I had Turbo Jam tonight and as always Lana worked us....she worked us real good! I think once it starts to warm up in the next 2 weeks or so I am going to start walking daily. When I was a teenager in the spring I would always get up early and go for a walk before getting ready for school. I loved it, the warm spring air, the sunshine and me and my Walkman. Ha! I won't be getting up earlier to walk ( not just yet), but I think I will enjoy an afternoon walk. Now I just need to make a good playlist for my Mp3 player.
My Mom ordered this new face cream/ anti aging serum. It was on The View and a few other day time talk shows. My mom is not one to buy and try everything that comes out. So it will be interesting to see if its any good. It came in a kit, and it is supposed to make a noticeable difference on lines and wrinkles in just one week. She took a before picture, so I will keep you posted, and I will put her before and after pics in a later post.
So did anyone have a weird Friday the 13th? Have a good Weekend!

Lazy Weekend

WOW its Tuesday already.....LOL We had a lazy weekend. Friday night Blaine and his buddy Chris had boys night out and went to Dooley's for a few games of pool. I put the girlies to bed and enjoyed a nice quiet evening alone. I got to hold the remote and got to watch my shows. LOL You know shows that Blaine won't watch with me, or won't let me watch because his shows are on....lol. I watched TLC the entire evening Ha!

Saturday I cleaned, and put up new living room curtains, the girls played, Blaine helped clean and that is about all we did that day.

Sunday we had a very lazy day. Sunday afternoon Blaine took my sister Chandler to her Hockey game in Belfast and took our girls along for the ride and to watch the game. I took advantage of an empty house to finally paint my kitchen. It looks great! What a difference! I will post the before and after pics in my next post.

How was your weekend?

I found out how to do it here.

However, I am still trying to perfect it. Anyone know how I get the white box around it to go transparent?

Wednesday Wing & Hockey Night

Every Wednesday since we moved here we go to the town rink (Three Rivers Sportslex) to watch my dad play hockey and for the wings. The wings are really, really good. It started out just my mom, Blaine and myself, now its us 3 usually 2 of my aunts ( my dad's sisters) and another family friend. We sit and talk eat wings and watch hockey. I love it! And we really look forward to it. Next Wednesday is the last wing night of the season :( , I guess we are going to have to find a new activity for Wednesday nights.

2 weeks ago I started at a cardio class here in town. It is 3 nights a week (mon, wed, fri) at the United Church Hall. The lady that teaches it charges $40 and all money goes to the church. She lost almost 100 pounds by doing Turbo Jam, and Turbo Jam is what the class is. And let me tell you what a work out! I get weighed and measured Friday night for the 2nd time since I started the class....I will let you know how it goes (maybe) Ha! I am giving my self a year to get to my goal weight of 150 pounds ( that's what I weighed in High school) and my reward/motivation for getting to my goal weight is.....a trip down south!!! Blaine and I never went on a honeymoon after we got married, so this is going to like a honeymoon for us....except that we are going with my parents Ha! but that's okay we will have separate rooms. :)

So right now I know y'all are saying wings and turbo jam?!?.... LOL well Wednesday night is my treat night. Its the one night a week that I can eat what I want....so I choose WINGS! After next week I might have to convert to pizza night Ha!

What a day!

Poor Keilee! She had a horrible day today. It was one of those days that she just didn't listen to a thing I said. She was on time-out probably 5 times ( and I am sure 4 out of the 5 times was for the same thing). As I was making supper she was playing with the other 2 girls and all of a sudden Keilee comes to me crying. It was the 'I am crying but no sound is coming out because I am really hurt' cry. I asked her what was wrong but she just couldn't get the words out, but she was holding her cheek. I got her to move her hand and there was a scratch and a blue line ( the blue line was a bruise that was all ready forming and a little raised), I asked Raven & River if they had seen what happened and of course they said they seen nothing (really?) ha! When Keilee finally caught her breath and calmed down she told me what happened. " Me fall by bunk bed, and hurt my cheek" so I put a band aide on her cheek ( only because she wanted one....lol) and I went back to making supper and she went back to playing. About 10 minutes later Keilee comes to me crying again, this time she has a fat lip and a bloody nose. I scoop her up and start to wipe away the blood and console her. Again I ask the 2 older girls if they seen what happened, and again they did not. Keilee once she was settled down tells me that she was dancing and tripped over a toy on the floor and fell into the wall face first. My poor baby!!! I can just imagine what her poor little face is going to look like tomorrow.
Before all this I did get some good buys on eBay.
I got 3 of this dress, one for each of the girls.

And this one I could only get in River's size. But I thought it was so cute...

I love dressing my girls in sundresses in the summer time. And they all love to wear them. I was really happy with the 3 matching dresses. We are planning on having a professional family picture taken this summer, and I think those dresses will be perfect. I love eBay!

No School again today...

This has been such a bad winter. We moved here the first week in January and there has not been a week yet that school has not been cancelled at least one day. Today school is cancelled because of freezing rain.

I can't wait for spring, warm weather, green grass and the kids playing outside. Today we are of course spending the day indoors. The girls are coloring and I am getting caught up on laundry.

Even the doggies are wishing for nicer weather

Woody looking out the window dreaming of sunny weather...

Yuck! Slushy snow and puddles....

This is looking out the front door... see the icicles hanging from the roof

And this is me...dreaming about warmer weather... see the painting of the tulips behind me

I so can't wait for real tulips to be popping up everywhere...

Being a Mom...I Love this

My friend Kristene gave me a copy of this poem after my 2nd daughter River was born. I came across it today and thought I would post it on here. I Love it, and it is so true!

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom .
