I graduated from High School June 1999, and I can't believe its been 10 years!!! One of the girls I was friends with in high school sent me a message on Facebook saying that she was thinking about planning a 10 year reunion!!! I was so excited! I volunteered to help. We were supposed to get together tonight to start the planning but myself and one of the other girls couldn't make it so it has been re-sheduled. The date and venue have been set, it is August 28th! And so the diet goes into super mode.....HA! I went to curves this morning, and went to Turbo Jam cardio class this evening, and on top of that I am doing weight watchers flex points plan....if this doesn't work. nothing will! Tomorrow night is our last night of Turbo until next winter, and we get weighed and measured....I am hoping to be down at least 5 pounds. Today was day 3 week 2 of weight watchers, and I have been doing really good. My goal is to lose 40 pounds before the reunion. I have more weight then that to lose but that would be a fabulous start! With turbo jam class ending,I will have to start doing the videos I have at home...its not as fun, but it will still do the trick. I also want to start walking, I have the best intentions..Ha!
And speaking of losing weight....we found out that Blaine has Hypothyroidism which is the most common of the thyroid disorders. It occurs when the thyroid gland becomes under active and does not produce enough thyroid hormones. The metabolic rate falls and normal bodily functions slow down. In other words, this is why He has had absolutely no energy, and has gained weight! We just thought it was side effects from chemo (he finished 6 months of chemo 17 months ago), so needless to say it was good to find out that he won't be like this forever. Hopefully, the pills the doctor prescribed will kick in soon and give him lots of energy. Here's to Hoping! :)
